Imaginisce

Have you seen their new Garden Party paper line yet?  If not, you should go over to the Imaginisce blog and see what they are making with it.  It is so pretty and perfect for your spring projects.  I love the headband innovations that they came out with to use with the iTop tool.  I can't wait to get my hands on some of those for my daughter.  She loves headbands and even better if they have bling or flowers on it.

Christmas 2 Day Blog Hop and Candy - Day 2

Sorry this is up so late.  I had it scheduled to post this morning but for some reason it did not work.  I just got on to do the hop myself when I noticed mine was not up.

If you are here for the Christmas Blog Hop then you are in the right place! If you are just finding us please be sure to visit Josy's Blog to start at the beginning of the hop. You should have arrived from Alex's Blog and after my blog you will be going to Yolanda's Blog.

My project today is another Christmas present. For today's project I made a mini album for one of my Christmas presents. I am not saying whose present it is in case they read this.

Here are the supplies I gathered together to use but did not use everything

First I started with a round tin that had coasters with it, I bought it at my LSS on clearance for $1.  Then I took the coaster covered each side of each one with coordinating pp from DCWV Christmas paper from last year. I placed the coaster on the back of the paper and traced it and cut them out by hand. I took my black paint dauber and covered all the edges and slightly onto the flat part of the coaster before I taped my pp on. Then I applied Modge Podge over everything to seal the edges of the paper.

I decorated my pages with various embellishments. I tried to only glue the embellishments on the outer edges of the circle so that a photo could be slipped in behind them.

I am offering blog candy for the hop and because it is my blogaversary too. I have the Cricut cartridge Country Life and the Scrapbooking with Cricut book.  To get in with a chance to win this, please be a follower, post this in your sidebar, or if you do not have a blog, do a post about it somewhere and give me the link in your comment and leave a comment by December 18th. If you want an extra chance, visit my post from the blog hop yesterday and leave a comment as well and that will give you a second entry. I will be drawing the winner from the comments on this post and on yesterday's post. I will draw a winner on December 19th, my hubby's birthday.

Here is the order of the hop:

Christmas 2 Day Blog Hop with Candy - Day 1

If you are here for the Christmas Blog Hop then you are in the right place! If you are just finding us please be sure to visit Josy's Blog to start at the beginning of the hop. You should have arrived from Alex's Blog and after my blog you will be going to Yolanda's Blog.  This is a two day hop so be sure to come back and hop for more ideas tomorrow.

For today's project I am altering a pocket calendar.  I like to give these as teacher's gifts and little stocking stuffer type of Christmas gifts.  I buy my pocket calendars at M's or J's for $1 and then personalize them for the person receiving it.  You will need the following supplies to start.

First I start by laying my calendar on the back of the pp to measure where I need to cut.

After marking the cut lines, I used my straight trimmer to cut my cover.  Then I put tape on one of the inside flaps of my calendar and fold around the edge, then I lay my calendar flat and put tape near both edges, the middle of each side and the spine.  Then start from one side and smooth it over to the other edge.  Then I put tape on the other inside flap and folder it around that edge.

This is where the fun comes in, I use my Cricut, ribbon, flowers, iRock and stickles to decorate each one to personalize it and add their name.

I did add the person's name to the front but I do not want to show that here in case they read this.  There are several people I know that love frogs so they will not know who it is for until Christmas:)

I am offering blog candy for the hop and because it is my blogaversary too.  I have the Cricut cartridge NIP Country Life and the Scrapbooking with Cricut book.  To get in with a chance to win this, please be a follower, post this in your sidebar, or if you do not have a blog, do a post about it somewhere and give me the link in your comment and leave a comment by December 18th.  If you want an extra chance, come back tomorrow for the hop and leave a comment on that post as well and that will give you a second entry.  I will be drawing the winner from the comments on this post and on tomorrow's post.  I will draw a winner on December 19th, my hubby's birthday.

Hope you enjoyed the hop and don't forget to come back tomorrow for another project and a 2nd chance at the blog candy.

I won a blog candy from the Townscrapper back in August and still have received nothing.  I tried emailing to make sure that they received my email with my address and asked them to confirm that they were getting my emails just so I knew they had it.  I didn't hear anything so I posted on the blog with my email requesting that they send me an email because I had been trying to contact them and nothing was ever sent back to me so wasn't sure if they received my address.  They haven't picked anyone new for the blog candy so I am assuming I am still the winner.  It is now November and still nothing.  I am thinking that I can just write this one off.  This happened to me with Tombow too when they were blog sharing with Imginisce, I won a set of markers from them and never got them.  Emailed them to see if they got my email and nothing.  Maybe my emails are going to spam folders or something but that still doesn't explain ignoring my blog posts with my email.  Plus Tombow contacted me via email to say I won so I just hit reply with my address.  Oh well, better luck next time I guess.

Halloween Treat Bags

I am entering these treat bags in the challenge over at Gaby Abby Challenges with SEI Week 4 which is Halloween Candy.  I made 40 of these treat bags, 20 for my DD's 1st grade class, one for DS and 2 for my nieces that stop over.  The remaining 17 will go to a local shelter so that the children staying in the shelter will get some Halloween treats since they may not be able to leave to go trick or treating.  My friend is making cards to give along with the treats.  I used the Basic Grey Eerie Collection and cut 6x6 pieces and used my spider web around the page punch for the topper.  I then made 40 dracula, witch, skeleton, mummy and creepy creature from the Mini Monsters cart cut at 3 inches.  I then used various stickers and die cuts from the Basic Grey Eerie Collection and K& Co to put beside the monsters.  I think they turned out very cute.  Each kid will get a play dough, pack of mini cards, fruit snack and mini bag of popcorn.  I am also entering this for the Challenge Me Monday #33 over at Fantabulous Cricut, which is Frighten me or not.

Back to School Swaps

This is a clipboard that my DD and I made for a back to school swap she partcipated in, you had to make one item and then buy five items for school, the girl she was giving to really liked iCarly so we made this clipboard for her and then we put some of the left over stickers on the pencil case and notebook we bought her.

My DS participated in the swap too and his partner really liked Cars and Thomas the Train, we could not find too much with Thomas so we went with Cars.  Here is the picture frame we made for his first day of pre-school:

Breast Cancer Ribbon Journal and Bookmark

Here is my entry for the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #2 Think Pink

Breast Cancer Ribbon Journal and Bookmark

It must include at least 2 Cricut cuts and you must use at least three of the following: Pink, Ruffles, Scallops, Flourishes, Glitter and Jewels.  My two cuts are the ribbons, one on the journal and one on the bookmark, I went to my LSS to use their Pink Journey cartridge to cut them.  I used pink, flourishes (made out of jewels with my iRock) and jewels in the center and on the bottom on both of the ribbon cuts.  I just got the iRock and this is the first thing I used it on.  I LOVE IT!!
I made this as a gift set for my sister who is a survivor of breast cancer.  She has a pretty good attitude about it.  One of the things she says to people about her journey to recovery is that the cancer may have taken one of my boobs but it didn't take my life, for that I must be thankful.

Keep your fingers crossed that I win one of the six Pink Journey cartridges that they are giving away.  I love this cartridge.  There is just so much I could make with it.  Besides my sister who has won the battle against this horrible disease, I have three cousins who are still battle breast cancer.

I am also entering this in Robyn's at My Pink Stamper #1 Karlee challenge (Monday October 11th post) - make something for someone.

A Surprise Package

I have been sick since last Thursday and feeling miserable.  I received a package yesterday from Imaginisce, I had won a giveaway on their blog a few weeks ago but wasn't really sure what I would receive.  When I opened the, I was so excited to see the iRock with some gems and their new Cottage Christmas line.  I cannot wait to try the iRock, I am going to have to hide it from my DD until I can get use to using it and bling up some of my own stuff or I will never get to use it.  The Cottage Christmas line is so cute and I cannot wait to make some projects with it.  This package made my day.  Thanks Imaginisce!!!

Card Fronts

Here are some pictures of card fronts I have made for swaps over on the Cricut MB.

For this swap, the card had to contain a butterfly.  I designed this on my Gypsy with the Mother's Day (the background) and Gyprsy Wanderings (the butterfly) carts.  I love the lacey look of the backgroud.  I am going to have to look at the file on the Gypsy to see where I got the label and Thanks from.  I cut the butterfly's shadow from vellum and stickled the edges with Diamond Stickles and the placed the detailed cut on top and sorta of curled the wings with a pencil to give it a more three dimensional look.  (If anyone wants this file, let me know and I will have to email it to you).  This is one of my favorite cards I have made.  I love that I have it on my Gypsy because if I want to use it for a different occasion all i have to do is pull it up and change the sentiment.  I think the possibilities for this one is endless because it would be great for congratulations, deepest sympathy, thinking of you, etc.

This is the first one I made for the swap and you had to have an embossed item on your card.  I used the Moraccan Screen Cuttlebug folder on various color core black magic paper and sanded it to show the embossing then used my ribbon punch and threaded ribbon through to match the color core of the paper.  Next I pop dotted the flowers.

There are two more card fronts due for this swap, one for September and one for October.  I love having these on hand because you can put them on a card you have or make your own out of cardstock and you have a card ready to go.  They are great for the forgotten or last minute occasions.

Christmas Cards

Here are some cards I made for a Christmas card swap that had several groups with different themes over on the Cricut MB. This was the Kids card group. I used the Mickey Santa die cut for the Cuttlebug on blue core black magic paper which was embossed with the tiny heart Cuttlebug folder which I turned to make it look like snow flakes after it was sanded.
This one was the Let It Snow. I used my Just Rite snowflake stamp, the snowflake paper was from a holiday stack I picked up at Joann's, I think it was DCWV but not positive and kraft cardstock.

This next one was the non-traditional, I decided to use browns and blues as my colors which I think are non-traditional Christmas colors. I used the Lacey Label cart for the circles and "Joy" cut on kraft cardstock.

This one was the Snowman group. I used my Just Right snowman and snowwoman stamps along with a mistletoe sentiment. This Merry Christmas paper is from the same stack as the snowflake paper above again with kraft cardstock.

This last one was for the Vintage group. I used toppers from Flower Soft along with my Vintage Christmas Flower Soft and made two different cards. One said Holly & Ivy and one said Noel. This is my first experience with Flower Soft and I really love how it turned out. This is probably a 5X7 card whereas all the others are A2 size.

I am so excited and cannot wait to get the other cards back from this swap.  After this swap, I have almost 50 of my cards made for Christmas because I made extras of the ones I made and kept them.

Whiff of Joy New Winter Release on September 1st

Have you seen the new Whiff of Joy winter stamp release coming out on September 1st.  The DT is showing sneak peeks on their blogs.  You should go here to get the list of blogs showing sneak peeks plus Katharina is offering up a Winter Kit as blog candy (pic below) so make sure you go there to see how you can enter.

Claudia did a beautiful card here with three of the stamps from this set.  But I think my favorite card showcasing the new release is Jeanette's card using Henry on the train here because my son loves trains, anything with trains, and when I seen this card, it reminded me of him.
